Decorative Var Bedu for Indian, Gujarati wedding
It is used during the groom's welcome ceremony. An unmarried girl from the bride's side, usually the bride's sister, welcomes the groom while carrying a kalash and coconut combo (Var Bedu).
It is said that the girl carrying the Bedu is to allow the groom to enter only after money is placed in the Kalash (pot) by the groom. This Var Bedu is made with colorful gemstones, and is lightweight.
